To judge "society" one must first determine what society is. Society can be considered the people within a given area or social class, but it would seem today many people call society the general public excluding themselves. I have many times seen people on the book of faces blaming society. They blame it for suicide, bullying, drug abuse, rape, and any bad things imaginable. It's strange how people can blame society for all of their problems, yet they don't say who or what society really is. So what makes a society just? Firstly it must recognize itself as a collective society. Secondly it must uphold standards agreed upon by everyone involved, and finally it must have people in it with something in common. If these are all achieved then it will be successful, however not always just.

The mandate of heaven is the belief that any ruler should be allowed to have power, but if the leaders people arent satisfied they have the right to rebel. I agree with the mandate because it makes people have somebody who can't blame their mistakes on others.
ReplyDeleteI believe legalism is better than confucianism. I believe this because people who are bad will still be bad they need rules to stop them.
