I believe there are many reasons to the understanding of what makes a society just. First of all, there needs to be some sort of leader who is understanding, yet confident enough to make his own decisions. This leader should be able to take in the opinions of his nation's citizens and from there choose the best option that impacts others in a positive way. In addition to this, the government should be able to confront the conflicts and with its wealth be able to make an educated decision as to what is beneficial for all its citizens. By this I mean that they should have some control over the people; however, shouldn't get involved unless needed.
Along with these ideas, comes the people and their human rights. When born into Christianity, the baby is clothed in white and baptized symbolizing its purity. To me this is interpreted as each child is born with good nature, but its environment around them can affect their decision making and allow them to transfer to bad. The leadership of someone has to guide their people to stay on the right path and stand up for what they believe in. Furthermore, the citizens themselves have their honor code to maintain. This implies that they have to stick to the rules of the community and respect the principles the government chooses. They may not agree with what the government applies, but it is necessary for the community to stay as one with honoring each others decisions and making rational behavioral decisions from that. With all of this being said, I do believe it is possible for the society to be just; however, it takes a long of teamwork and understanding to overcome the difficulties in opinions it may bring.
The mandate of heaven when someone who is loyal is given the right to rule, but the people are allowed to rebel if not loyal enough. Yes, I agree with what the ruler and the people are responsible for in society. I believe this because we are society and someone has to take the lead (typically the ruler).
ReplyDeleteI personally agree with Legalism more because it is about how people act out of self-interest. Considering this, even the kindest person who donates money and time is taking part in this. They feel better after doing so. In the end, it will benefit the original person as well.
