What makes a society just?

In my opinion, societies are made just based on the people within. In regards to the ruler of the society, the ruler must be responsible for the actions of its domain. He is responsible for making sure the area or region he covers or rules is his responsibility and obligation to make sure it runs smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. I believe people are naturally good in this world, but may not show it all of the time. All people are naturally good, but choose when to express it and when not to based on their motives. In regards to the government control in society, one government must distribute tax money evenly among the areas of their domain. People, all over, not just in one area deserve the same as the rest of the people in other area of the government justification. They should not have full control, in regards to pricing of goods and property etc. People shall have the right to a free market economy, where they may do as they please with unregulated pricing within the areas of their opportunities. People have honor based on their mindset to their true self, with the helping of others at times of need. Honor is something that is achieved not given or something you are born with. Finally, a society that is just is one with the compliance of all people in the society. Just can be achieved through a group effort in a society, not solely one person.

  1. The mandate of heaven helps to explain the dynastic cycle. I do agree that the ruler has the right to rule and the people should be loyal to the ruler. For example, when your brother is stuck between helping his friend or his brother, family should come first. This is an example of loyalty, within a family.

  2. I agree with legalism more because without rules, the bad people would be able to get away with things and cause trouble, which they wouldn't be able to do otherwise. Laws and rules are necessary in a just society. For example, when a criminal has no rules, they are allowed to walk in a gas station and rob whatever they want, as they please. With rules and laws, many of these small crimes are prevented.
