What makes a society just?
In order for a society to be just, there are many different things that need to happen. First, the ruler in society needs to be able to listen to what the people say, but not also do what they want. A leader or ruler can't always just do what the people want. Also, a society has naturally good people. I think people are naturally good because when they are born, and when they grow up, different things and people influence those people to grow to be who they are. No one is born bad. Certain situations and experiences change us into something that we are naturally not. If we are all born good, then those people need to live in a society where they can prosper and stay good. Although, the leader and government can't control everything that people do. People must grow up to be who they are, and not something that is forced. Governments often try to control the lives of their people, and it always turns out in unhappiness. A society that is just respects the people, and knows whats good in order for people to grow up right,

Question 1: The mandate of heaven is a specific person who is supposed to be chosen by God to rule the people. I agree that people should be responsible in a society because they are the people who can choose whether or not to make good choices. Yes the ruler can set up rules, but the people are the ones who decide whether or not to follow them.
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2: I agree with Legalism because people need structure and discipline in order for a society to work. The U.S has a lot of rules and our country does very well. But, too much rules aren't a good thing either. If you have too much, the government will start trying to control everyone's lives
