What's a just society?

What makes a Just Society?

  • Just societies have lots of factors that surround them. A few could be: the ruler, the people, the government, and the "other" countries around them. In order for a leader to be just, one could argue, that the leader must be a "great" ruler. The people must be happy with the leader, so the leader should be understanding and considerate. In a "just: society, not everyone has to have the same amount of money, but money needs to be delivered to everyone so everyone can pay things they need to pay.

  1. According to the mandate of heaven, it is believed that Heaven granted someone to rule certain people, and if something bad happened while they were ruling (such as a flood, or a hunger strike)then the people have the right to rebel and find a new leader. I do not agree with this at all. This cannot determine what a just society is. What if, something like a flood, did happen? Isn't that out of your control, and you still get blamed for it? Hmmmm... doesn't sound right at all...

  2. Confiscation created a system of peace through the 5 relationships. Confusion did not like watching all the warfare around him, which was why he created these 5 relationships. He believed people could follow their leaders, through peaceful methods. Meanwhile, Legalism was founded in China's early history and think that people act out in self-discipline. This system also teaches that only harsh laws imposed by a strong leader, will make people follow you. I like the sound of Confiscation a lot more. The idea of a peaceful ruling sounds better. If the ruler is always mean, people might not be happy all the time, which could lead to more rebellion then Confiscation's ways.
